This young couple adorned the cover of our 2019 Wedding Issue. Born and raised in Montgomery, Josie and Heath met in first grade, but it would take a few years before the romance blossomed as was detailed in the 2019 Wedding Issue: “In the seventh grade, while attending BaldwinMagnet School, Josie’s mom would frequently ask about a cute boy always waiting to be picked up by his grandmother. With an eye-roll she would say that was her dear friend’s brother, Heath. By the time high-school approached sud- denly Heath was always tagging along with his sister and Josie. Fast forward to a year later, Josie and her friend were playing in a softball tournament when she broke her wrist. After the game, Heath sent a text to check on her. From that point on they pretty much became a couple. But it became official in June 2011 — while on vacation at the beach with her fam- ily.” “Six years later, on another family trip to Santa Rosa beach, he would propose in the same spot that he asked her to be his girlfriend. The family had tricked Josie into a day of shopping while Heath prepared his proposal plan… changing it several times throughout the day. After some time shopping Josie’s twin sisters re- quested her down at the beach for family photos. Always wanting to oblige she reluctantly went for fam- ily photo time only to find Heath at the bottom of the stairs at the beach on bended knee. Later they would celebrate with everyone, in- cluding Heath’s family at the beach house.” Heath and Josie married on May 19, 2018 at First United Methodist Church and a reception followed at the Capital City Club. They are cur- rently building a home in The Wa- ters, “We are looking forward to be- ing able to play pickle ball and take our two fur-babies, Champ and Cooper, for walks in our neighbor- hood,” said Josie.
