M AYBE IT ’ S TIME TO START A NEW HOLIDAY TRADITION OF NOT GAINING THAT HARD - TO - SHED WEIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE . TRIVE TO M AINTAIN The holiday season may not be the best time to try to lose weight, but it’s not as hard as you might think to maintain your weight during this festive time. The key is to not abandon your weight loss plan in favor of calorie-laden treats. Here are a few guidelines for maintaining weight: Continue to exercise. Holiday treats do not have to be com- pletely forbidden as long as you faithfully continue your exercise program. You may even consider ramping up the intensity level a bit to burn a few extra calories. The weather in the Heart of Alabama is often mild enough to spend a good bit of the time outdoors.
