Something I strive for in my life. It’s very easy for me to get out of balance each day since I tend to take on more responsibilities than I should. What are the reasons I do this? I’m still trying to figure that out. I think there are others out there who must be like me. We live in such a fast-paced world with demands to accomplish more in a 24-hour period than the generations before us. Technology that is designed to make our lives easier and more efficient demands more of our attention. And, so the balance we seek sometimes alludes us. And yet, we need to keep working to achieve the balance. In this issue of ALMetro360 , we’re offering some helpful tips to achieve a healthy more balanced lifestyle, from eating a diet filled with foods with the colors of the rainbow to making time to stay mentally and emotionally balanced through mindfulness. It will be very important to keep these areas in mind as we head toward the holidays. The Yuletide season is just around the corner and we have a guide to planning a celebration trip for your family this year. Your family will be delightfully pleased with any one of the destinations. Even though we’ll start talking about the holidays in just a few weeks, fall has just arrived with its festivals and carnivals throughout the Heart of Alabama. The Alabama National Fair and Autauga County Fair start this month with interesting sights to see, concerts to hear and rides to share with friends and family. We take a look at the civic organization that started the Alabama National Fair, Kiwanis Club of Montgomery, and all it has accomplished in helping children in the Heart of Alabama for 100 years. We spotlight a beautiful lady who has worked hard and acted on faith to achieve her dreams as an interior designer. Lynn Mathison followed the Lord every step as he led her to Mathison Interiors second location in East Alabama. You’ll see why her talent is so remarkable. In the Dish department, you’ll meet Chef Eric Rivera who is winning awards for his focus on developing healthy cuisine using sustainably sourced ingredients. And, oh they are so tasty, too! Discover a new way of creating art when you read about Nancy Hartsfield, an artist and former professor at Auburn University who finds strength and solace through her art. In this issue, you will also find healthcare and wellness professionals who are dedicated to helping you be healthy and fit. So, sit back and read all about ways to maintain a healthy balance for vitality and wellness. Lynn Cox W
