The evening prior to the ball, the ladies of La Fete gathered not only to rehearse for the ball but also to commemorate the past year. As special thanks to the 2019 Queen of La Fete for her hard work and leadership, members gifted her with an engraved silver chalice. The board and her family presented her with a pair of red ruby and white sapphire drop earrings to mark the occasion. The morning of the ball, the Queen of La Fete was honored with a breakfast at the Arrowhead Country Club. The breakfast was hosted by the La Fete Board and friends of the queen. The members of La Fete gathered for a backstage cocktail party before the festivities began. Members and their guests enjoyed drinks, appetizers and circus décor to continue the evening’s theme. Stage and Scenery Committee members transformed Garrett Coliseum into La Fete’s Under the Big Top circus event. There were silhouettes of circus performers and the ladies of La Fete per- formed in a circus ring-turned dance floor in front of a colorful, hand-painted backdrop of a circus scene. As guests entered the coliseum, they were greeted with all the necessities of the circus, including freshly made popcorn to snack on as they took their seats. They were welcomed to the show by a circus ringmaster and greeted with signs highlighting the feats in store for the night. Decked out in their finest, Jason Isbell and Jamie Henderson emceed the evening’s festivities.
