T HE B EACH C LUB R ESORT & S PA The Beach Club Resort & Spa is on the luxury side and resonates with a small beachside town in a secluded destination. The Beach Club sits on some 86 acres of private beaches with plenty of walking trails. Turn onto the property and experi- ence a laid-back vacation with accommodation choices ranging from four high-rise towers full of spacious condos to cottages surrounding a lake with individual pools. Units vary from one to five bedrooms with something for everyone. The Beach Club offers resort amenities like a club house with its own separate pool and a sig- nature restaurant, full-service spa, fitness center, tennis courts with a staff tennis pro, basketball court, beach chair rentals, pools and hot tubs at each tower and a market area with shopping, a creamery and another restaurant. Summertime comes with evening food trucks adding more to the food scene. Enjoy a tasty meal with live music while the kids play and enjoy various activities. Take in a sunset from your balcony or relax on the beach as the sun fades into the water. Tacky Jacks 2 Fort Morgan offers fantastic wa- terfront views of Mobile Bay along with stunning sunsets. Open at 8 a.m. each day, Tacky Jacks 2 is casual dining with a good mix of menu items ranging from fun appetizers like Fried Pickles and Crispy La Hawg Bites to hearty salads, PoBoys, burgers, platters and lots of seafood. Of course, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach restaurants aren’t more than 20 minutes away from the farthest point in Fort Morgan and choices are abundant depending on your taste buds. Special treats not to be missed are The Ruby Slipper Cafe for Southern brunch fare and cock- tails, and The Yard Milkshake Bar where building your own dessert may be as much fun as eating it. E XTRA G EMS The quiet beach community of Fort Morgan has extra gems throughout like a boat launch and marina (Gulf Shores Marina at Fort Morgan), challenging golf at Kiva Dunes and, of course, Fort Morgan Historic Site. The civil war site is open daily for tours and exploring, and it’s a nice way to sneak in some educational history while having fun. Also, look for a trip on the Mobile Bay Ferry as a fun way to visit between Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island. n I F YOU GO … For rentals at The Indies H ARRIS P ROPERTIES M ANAGEMENT O UR G ULF S HORES V ACATION .
