From free outdoor pops concerts in late May and September, which attract more than 15,000 music lovers each year, to the se- rious offerings of classical composers at the Davis Theatre perform- ances, MSO concerts are programmed to support the musical preferences of the audience and the orchestra’s membership. An- nually, 20 performances are scheduled for local audiences of 30,000 people. Educational concerts and activities are an important part of the organization’s mission and are directed, in large part, by the 200- member Montgomery Symphony League. The league manages and funds the Montgomery Youth Orchestra and provides a scholar- ship program that supports the musical initiatives of MYO and MSO members alike. The league also organizes the symphony’s two children’s concerts each year. A favorite series for many is the lively performances of the Sym- phony’s Violin and Cello Fellows. They present a series of six con- certs accompanied by internationally recognized pianists at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. The Fellowship Program is the only one of its kind in the nation. 334-240-4004 www.montgomerysymphony.org montgomerysymphony@gmail.com
