OB-GYN ASSOCIATES Women’s Healthcare services have expanded in the River Region to Elmore County. For over 25 years, OB-GYN Associates of Mont- gomery has remained committed to meet the needs of their pa- tients by providing the highest level of quality care for women ages 12 – 112. OB-GYN Associates of Montgomery is growing to meet Women’s Health needs of the River Region community by opening a new office location in Wetumpka. The practice consists of five locations and staff who take pride in serving the patients in their community. Our Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, or one of our Midwives provide opportunities to counsel females regarding preventive medicine and to provide or refer patients for recommended services as needed. The “pap smear” and “HPV” test are conducted per the ACOG Guidelines to screen patients for cervical cancer. The pelvic exam aids in the detection of ovarian, vaginal, or uterine cancers that are not iden- tified in the “pap smear”. In addition to the pelvic examination, OB-GYN Associates of Montgomery conducts and coordinates re- ferrals for breast examinations and mammography to screen for breast cancer, bone mineral density testing to identify osteopenia or osteoporosis, and colonoscopies to screen for polyps or colon cancer. Patients are encouraged to see their gynecologist on a yearly basis. Yearly examinations are an overall wellness assessment to promote prevention practices, recognize risk factors for disease, identify medical problems and establish a trusting relationship be- tween the provider and the patient.
