ENROLLMENT: Approximately 700 students K-12 HONOR CODE: The Montgomery Academy Honor Code fos- ters the development of a school community of trust, mutual re- spect, integrity and academic honesty. All members of the com- munity are expected to support the ideals of the Honor Code, to conduct themselves ethically and to encourage others to do the same. The Honor Code was written and approved by Montgomery Academy students. Our student-run Honor Council is responsible for upholding the principles of the school’s Honor Code. RECOGNITIONS: Forty-nine students were recognized as Ad- vanced Placement (AP) Scholars by the College Board® for their exceptional achievement on AP exams. Two students were named National Merit Semifinalists. Thirty-eight seventh grade students qualified for the Duke Talent Identification Program. Our speech & debate team has won 16 state championships, the third most of any school in the nation, and is counted among the top 1% of programs in the country. The Academy is one of only three schools in Alabama with a Cum Laude Society, which recognizes superior academic performance. Technology is incorporated throughout the Lower, Middle and Upper School curriculum in intentional and strategic ways to enhance teaching and learning. MA students learn to learn and they develop the critical thinking and commu- nication skills, problem solving, character and habits of mind that set them up for success in college and in their lives. Our Upper School offers 22 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, more than any other independent school in Alabama. Recent graduates are attending 51 colleges and universities in 21 states plus Washington, D.C. and Scotland. ATHLETICS: Athletes at The Montgomery Academy have earned 68 state sports championships, in both girls and boys sports, which is more than any other public or private school in the River Region. Numerous students and coaches have been named All-Metro player or coaches of the year by The Montgomery Advertiser. 72% of our students in grades 7-12 participate on an athletic team at the Academy. With 34 teams, there is something for every athlete. Four of our coaches have been inducted into the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Hall of Fame, the most of any school in the state.
