Their first night out was to Saza’s Italian Restaurant in The Alley Station with two of their good friends. The second one, she had won the family over! They visited the family farm house and enjoyed the outdoors on the porch in rocking chairs. Two months into the relationship, they traveled to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for a week long airshow for Lee’s work. Lee knew at that point that he was not letting her get away from him for agreeing to join him. They continued dating for the next year and a half. Lee also accompanied Whitney to many work events at the school where she worked. She also realized she had found a keeper and the two became inseparable. In Sept. of 2017, while at the bride’s parents’ house in Oneonta, Ala. the family was celebrating the bride’s birthday. Lee gave Whitney a pair of shoes as a birthday gift, and in one of the shoes was a ring box with the engagement ring inside. Shocked, Whitney opened it and realized what was happening. She said yes and the wedding planning began immediately. Six months later the wedding took place at 129 Coosa with Pastor John Dees and David Wilson officiating the ceremony.
