With an eye-roll she would say that was her dear friend’s brother, Heath. By the time high-school approached suddenly Heath was always tagging along with his sister and Josie. Fast forward to a year later, Josie and her friend were playing in a softball tournament when she broke her wrist. After the game, Heath texted to check on her. From that point on they pretty much became a couple. But it became official in June, 2011 — while on vacation at the beach with her family. Six years later, on another family trip to Santa Rosa beach, he would propose in the same spot that he asked her to be his girlfriend. The family had tricked Josie into a day of shopping while Heath prepared his proposal plan… changing it several times throughout the day. After some time shop- ping Josie’s twin sisters requested her down at the beach for family photos. Not wanting to oblige she reluctantly went for family photo time only to find Heath at the bottom of the stairs at the beach on bended knee. Later, they would celebrate with everyone, including Heath’s family at the beach house. On their wedding day, the bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. She had lace from her mother’s wedding dress incorporated into the garter she wore. The ceremony took place at First United Methodist Church and the reception followed at the Capital City Club where Blackberry Breeze entertained the guests for a fun night celebrating the happy couple. After a honeymoon to the Bahamas, the couple now resides in Pike Road. n
