They had one class together and he decided to ask her out, but she was already dating someone else. Fast forward to 2016 and their paths would cross again, but only in the hallways of college. Feeling rejected from the first time he asked her out, Casey reached out to Marlee via Facebook. This time she happily agreed to a date. And the rest…as they say… is history. After nearly a year of dating, it was New Year’s Eve, 2017. The couple had decided to celebrate on the Harriott II Riverboat New Year’s Eve cruise. Floating from excitement Marlee loves the new year celebrations and was eagerly awaiting the countdown. Ten minutes before midnight Casey asked another couple to take their picture and then he grabbed her hands and nervously started to explain how he knew she was the one from the moment they met. He then proposed at the stroke of midnight. The fireworks show followed, making it the perfect beginning of the new year. Wanting to make their wedding day extra special the couple decided to honor the many loved ones that had passed. They displayed photos on a table with a lantern lit in remembrance of those they lost. As they walked out to view the table, expecting it to be just them, the happy couple were greeted by family to share in that special moment. The best man and matron of honor also gave touching speeches that made the blissful day extra sweet and magical.
