As part of the Machine Gun experience participants have the opportu- nity to fire the Browning M2HB which was in use duringWWII — as in this photo taken in Normandy, France — and is still being used by the U.S. Military today. he M2HB machine gun — or Browning .50 caliber machine gun — is a heavy machine gun designed toward the end of World War I by John Browning. The M2HB has been used extensively by the United States military as a vehicle weapon and for aircraft armament from the 1930s to the present — longer than almost any other firearm used by the US military. Thankfully, most of us will never experience a war zone. But, we have had brave citizens in uniform voluntarily defending our free- dom and American ideals since the birth of this great nation. Movies can give us but a small sense of the sacrifices of our military men and women to defend freedom.
