Real Men Wear Pink- Bill Collister Retired US Postal Service

Originally from Covington, Kentucky, Bill served in the U.S.F.A. from 1952 to 1956; then joined the United States Postal Service in 1957. He officially retired in 1991.

Bill graduated from Holmes High School in Kentucky. After moving to Montgomery he attended Huntingdon College where he served as Minister of Music at Highland Gardens Baptist Church, Woodley Baptist Church and Valley Park Baptist Church. He is currently a member of the Taylor Road Baptist Church.

In 2013, at the age of 79, bill was diagnosed with breast cancer. “I’m thrilled to report that after my surgery I’ve had no problems as a result from my breast cancer diagnosis. Of course it made me realize how quickly our lives can change and the importance of being prepared for whatever comes your way. The affect that cancer can have is life-changing. I’m blessed I had a good report and I’m honored to be a part of the Real Men Wear Pink campaign… bringing funds and awareness to this cause.”

Bill has been married to his wife, Ann, since 1957 and they have two children, and five grandchildren.
